Mark Is Still Alive, This is The Mission District.

Hey Guy,

Long time no content for both the Underthewire podcast and this blog. For that I apologise.

I am currently Tour Managing The Mission District, on a 3/4 week tour of the UK and Ireland. We had our first show last night in Ashford Kent, and it was a great intimate gig with great party vibes. Lights Go Blue and Fear For Romeo supported. Both bands have catchy as hell songs, even if at completley ends of the punk influenced spectrum. Go check them out. There was a great kid there that was amazing at break dancing, and pulled off his moves to both Lights Go Blue and The Mission District. He was insanely good. Lights Go Blue made a video of it. Go see if they put it on their page?

Crouching Tiger Hidden Supermodel

News in Re:place Radio land this week which I think is actually far more important than I might have noticed.

We have an exclusive interview with Abi Clancy! That's right, girlfriend of Portsmouth and England footballer Peter Crouch (please spot the pun at the top of the post) and super model Abi Clancy was the host of the Claire House Charity Fashion Show and none other than Re:place Radio's Watch out for the Wilsons managed to get themselves an exclusive interview, the beauty that she is. Now I can say things like this because I had the pleasure of being the stage manager for the event and was cueing her on and off the stage.

Youtube and the PRS

Having sat and watched the debacle between PRS and Google unfold this week I have found myself amazed at the reaction both in the press and media and around the blogosphere.

An interesting part of all of this has been the lack of explanation around the over riding issues. The news of music videos being pulled by YouTube was widely reported in the mainstream media this week and I have a sneaking suspicion catapulted PRS for Music from an organisation that few people outside the music and entertainment industries had ever heard of to the universal known party pooper of the digital content world. I personally think there are far more important issues highlighted by this fiasco about how artists in a digital age get paid for their work by new media companies.
